I am also training for the Memphis Marathon. Did you make up this plan or get it from somewhere?
Good luck with the training.
Looking at your plan makes me realize just how close the marathon is!!!

Hi Michele! It's great to hear from someone else who will be plodding down Beale Street December 2nd!

I adapted the plan from a book called "The Competitive Runner's Handbook", which is the best running book I've found. It was actually a 16-week plan I had to cut down to 11 weeks.

Good luck with your training as well. This will be my first one and have heard that the Memphis Marathon is a great one!

Shane,

What kind of base did you have before you started your training? If you did not have a strong base I would warn you to be very careful of jumping in a plan and trying to play catch up. You may even want to think of a 3 day a week running plan.

I am using a 3 day running plan currently and am training for the Dusney Marathon.

Something to think about.

I averaged close to 30 miles for several weeks leading up to the 14.2 mile race I completed a couple of weekends ago, with long runs of 10 - 15 miles. Of course, an old ankle injury started bothering me two weeks before the race so I am REALLY hoping it doesn't come back now that I am kicking the mileage back up.
